The Method Schools Student Support Services teams came together yesterday for a day of learning, reflection, and connection. Our end-of-year session focused on several key areas that have guided our growth throughout the year:
Understanding Individual and Team Strengths
We explored our individual Enneagram results, identifying both strengths and areas for growth. Teams then combined their results to map collective strengths and potential blind spots. This led to thoughtful conversations about how to better leverage diverse skills and perspectives to support our students, their families, and one another.
Strengthening Team Continuity and Capacity
We examined the distinction between team continuity and team capacity as essential components of strong, sustainable teams. Through collaborative discussions, teams identified systems and processes needed to maintain continuity regardless of staff absences. We also explored how to build team capacity—focusing on people development and fostering shared leadership across teams.
Expanding Ourselves and Our Organization
Dr. Pete Getz joined us to share insights on the importance of continuous expansion—personally, professionally, and organizationally. Drawing from Creative Confidence, he reminded us of our inherent creativity and encouraged us to apply it within the supportive environment of our teams and the broader organization.
Reflecting on Yearlong Learning
We closed the session with an informal discussion connecting insights from the books participants read throughout the year. These readings aligned with our four core themes:
- Vision & Purpose
- Systems Design
- Unreasonable Hospitality
- Expansion
Participants shared powerful reflections, including Director of Enrollment, Courtney Williams’ insight on the importance of continuous growth to remain competitive and relevant, and Experience Specialist, Marina Farillas’ reminder that while scripts can support consistency, authentic, human-to-human connection is what drives meaningful impact. HR Manager, Tracy Kimmel highlighted, as part of her purpose statement, the importance of ensuring that every employee feels supported and none feel overlooked and Experience Specialist, Ashlyn Holley, shared how she’s learned the importance of making sure every parent, student and staff member feels heard and valued. These insights have all led to an enhanced focus on hospitality across the organization.
Each participant received a certificate of completion for their first year of leadership development. We are incredibly impressed with this group and grateful for their commitment to growth. As Method Schools continues its journey from great organization to one of excellence, we could not ask for better teams to lead the way.
